IPL 2022: BCCI Looking For The Ownership of Two New IPL Teams for IPL 15th Edition
There is a strong possibility that ten teams will take part in the IPL 15. The BCCI has already started looking for ownership for the two new teams in the IPL 2022. However, there is a problem with retaining the previous players. According to many, if the rule of retaining players continues as before, it will be unfair to the two new franchises.
The second half of IPL 2021 has not started yet, meanwhile, BCCI is thinking about IPL 2022. A meeting between the BCCI and IPL officials was recently held in Dubai with a view to organizing the 2022 IPL with a long-term plan to overcome the coronavirus outbreak.
Because then those two new franchises will not be able to team up good quality players. The BCCI at that meeting in Delhi hoped to keep the player retention rule in place, though it has not yet been finalized. However, the idea is that if the player retention rules are kept, then a group of three former players will be able to keep themselves.
Meanwhile, Australian players are also taking part in the remaining 31 matches of IPL 2021. Cricket Australia has left the decision of its cricketers to participate in the IPL to the players. Apart from Australia, cricketers from Bangladesh, England, and South Africa will also take part in the remaining matches of the IPL 2021.
