Pakistan Cricket Board Announced Pakistan Squad for Twenty20 World Cup 2021
Chief Selector Mohammad Waseem confirmed the 15-man Pakistan squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, along with three players as reserves. Sarfaraz Ahmed has been dropped from the squad, while Asif Ali, Haris Rauf, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Hafeez, Azam Khan, Imad Wasim, and Waseem Jr have been selected. Fakhar Zaman, Usman Qadir, and Shahnawaz Dhani, on the other hand, are selected as reserves.
Unfortunately, Shoaib Malik, the great all-rounder, and Mohammad Amir, the fast bowler, are not chosen in the 18-man squad. The 15-man squad is the final one for the New Zealand Series and England Tour and will be polished in preparation for the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup which begins on October 17th, 2021.
Mohammad Waseem stated at a press conference that he selected Pakistan’s squad based on the requirements of Modern Cricket Standards and the UAE’s conditions.
Babar Azam will captain the team, with Shadab Khan serving as vice-captain. Azam Khan will replace Sarafraz Ahmed as the second wicketkeeper option for the upcoming T20 WC 2021. Pakistan Cricket Team will lead the Twenty20 World Cup in 2021 with a lineup of five batsmen, four all-rounders, four bowlers, and two wicketkeepers.
