Temba Bavuma wants South Africa to win the T20 World Cup 2021
South Africa has been the favorite to play in all the ODI and T20 World Cups since the late nineties. However, they never managed to cross the boundary of the semi-final due to the tragic irony of fate. But this Temba Bavuma the captain of South Africa wants to win the 2021 T20 World Cup for the first time. The Proteas will start their T20 World Cup mission with the 1st match on October 23 against Australia.
“The 2021 T20 World Cup is very important for Proteas and South Africa as a nation,” said South African captain Temba Bavuma.
“T20 cricket is not just a game for South African fans, but at the same time it is a great opportunity for us to win the World Cup for the first time.”
South Africa is in the tough group in Super 12. In the same group are strong teams like Australia, reigning champions West Indies and runners-up England. Besides, 2 more teams will be added from the first episode.
However, the Proteas have been in good form in the recent T20s with a 3-0 win over Ireland and a 3-2 win over the West Indies. However, this year they lost the T20 series against England and Australia. However, in the group stage of the World Cup, Babumar’s team is determined to reach the knockout stage.
‘We fell into an interesting group. There are strong teams here. However, our goal is to go to the final and win the title after losing them, ‘said Bavuma.
‘Throughout the year we have been playing most of the matches in the T20 format. I am confident of winning the title for the first time as a captain.
South Africa will have a chance to indulge in a three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka in September.
